The Wheels Festival 2014
Classic Vehicles are only one of the attractions that will feature at the Wheels Festival in Bournemouth, from the 24th until the 26th of May. Along with the fine collection of charismatic classics you will be likely to see down there, there are also monster truck shows and BMX stunt displays.
The Wheels Festival takes place in Meyrick Park and will play host to displays of classic vehicles that feature hundreds of cars, motorbikes and other vehicles on each day. In the Pavilion car park there will also be a vintage pre war car display. If you plan on attending, you will be in with the chance of seeing such models as the Aston Martin DB5 and other manufacturers such as Jaguar and Rolls Royce.
The East Cliff, that overlooks the beach will be hosting a closed road demonstration course full of live action where visitors are able to get up close and personal with the sounds and sights of supercars and bikes and racing cars whilst they are in action. There will also be two parades taking place on each day, along with trade stalls, sideshows and of course places to eat.
The Victorian Bournemouth Gardens is the host of the Family Wheels Zone and is the place to go for cycling displays, toy cars, art displays and wheels activities where you can “have a go”.
There will be a number of wheel themed displays in the town centre and the paddock area for the demonstration cars. At the start and end of the evening, the town centre will become a circuit for cycling, families have the opportunity to join in to celebrate cycling.
The beach is the place to go if you are looking to see car crushing shows and stunts in the Monster Truck Arena. Also Freestyle Motocross FMX experts performing their mind blowing jumps and stunts will be in the Action Sports arena, which is near the pier.
There is also a Military arena, where Army and Navy vehicles will be on display and will also be carrying out demonstrations.
The seafront and Pier Approach will have freewheel stunts featuring skateboarders and in line skaters along with scooter and BMX performers. Visitors are able to learn how to carry out the stunts themselves. There will also be a firework display on the Saturday at 10pm and car and bike display park ups on the prom across the weekend.
The Wheels Festival site will be open from 10-10 every day.
