The world of electronic vehicles has seen many fine additions over the course of the last few years. Vehicles ranging from the Toyota Prius up to the i3 from German brand BMW have proven to be key sellers over the years and today we are pleased to report on another Golf EV variation to hit our streets which comes in the manner of the all new GTE. This vehicle is available to purchase right now from local Volkswagen dealerships and showrooms and could very well prove to be one of the finest additions to the EV market in recent years. The Golf from VW is the best selling vehicle from the first six months of this year on European markets and has been a key seller for the manufacturer ever since the first model was introduced back in 1974. The new E Golf is another variation of the vehicle that has seen a release and we believe that these two new additions from the firm could very well prove to be two of the must own vehicles of this year.
So what brand new additions find their way into this variation of the Golf that could potentially persuade you to choose this EV over anything else on offer ?. Well regarding the power of the vehicle and what delivers it, we see the company have included the fitting of a 1..4 litre, four cylinder petrol engine which also comes fully fitted with an electric motor. A total of 201 brake horse power is also delivered from the engine and motor combined. Expect to receive a six speed, twin clutch DSG gearbox make it's way into the car which helps the model to produce an all round top speed of 138 miles per hour which is boosted along by the 7.6 seconds in which it takes the vehicle to reach the 62 miles per hour area from the get go. The Golf GTE is also made available as a front wheel drive variant.
The likes of the Leaf from Nissan and the i3 are to of the key players when it comes to the electric vehicle market right now. Can this GTE version and the E Golf prove to go head to head with them though and open up the doors to some brand new competition ?. We certainly think so.
The vehicle officially sees a grand launch this month here in the UK. In regards to how much you can expect this car to set you back, expect to make the purchase on this brand new addition to the EV line up from Volkswagen for a cost of around £28,000.
