The car brand known as Vauxhall are one of the worlds leaders when it comes to designing the perfect vehicle. We have seen them have much success over the years with models such as the Corsa and the Insignia amongst many more but perhaps none finer than the Astra model. The Vauxhall Astra was originally first launched back in 1979 and has since proven to be one of the finest additions to their line up to date. Over time the Astra has proven to be some top flight competition for the likes of the Volkswagen Golf amongst many other top rated vehicles. Now though it has been officially launched.. a brand new diesel variant of the GTC model and it is on sale right now.

So what new features have found their way into this brand new model during production time to help it make an impact ?. Well of course the big news here is the new engine that this car benefits from. We see the welcome addition of a 1.6 litre,CDTi diesel engine which is also used in both the Meriva and the Zafira tourer models from Vauxhall. As far as performance rates go, nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet but we do expect to hear more on this soon. Some new pieces of equipment also come along with this particular model and we see these features come your way in the form of 20 inch alloy wheels. It has been confirmed though that the total power output to make it's way out of the GTC diesel will come in a figure of 134 brake horse power and it will also develop 320 NM of Torque also.
With this new diesel engine finding it's way into the Astra model,could it continue to maintain a strong rivalry with Volkswagen maybe with the Golf R and even Ford with the latest Fiesta ST3 model ?.

You can officially pre purchase your Astra GTC diesel model right now from your local Vauxhall dealership/showroom. In regards to when the car will officially see a launch, it will arrive in showrooms here in the UK from September of this year and will sell for a total cost of £22,260.
