The upcoming Ford Focus RS is spotted at the Nurburgring

The world famous Nurburgring race track located in Germany has been the host of many brand new vehicles undergoing testing over the years with one of the most recent being the fastest ever Range Rover Sport model. This week though the famous track has played host to a testing phase for the brand new Focus RS model from American brand Ford. The Focus RS is expected to go on sale all around the world at some point throughout the course of 2016. The Focus is one of the biggest sellers that the Ford brand has ever produced. This was demonstrated throughout the course of the 2000's with the Focus being the best selling car in the United Kingdom for consecutive years until it was replaced by the brands big selling Fiesta model. There have been many variations of the Focus go on sale since it was first introduced to the world back in 1998. Three generations of the car have gone on sale over this time period and the all new fourth generation model which Ford have unveiled is ready to be launched now too. The RS is a more power orientated version of the car which sees improvements when it comes down to handling and speeds amongst other features. So what do we know about this brand new Focus RS model so far ?.

What could come along with the 2016 Ford Focus RS ?

So in regards to features and key components that will come along with the RS at launch time, there has not been a lot revealed by Ford directly as of yet but there is a lot of expectations and speculation surrounding the car and its power source. It is believed that the car could potentially benefit from a 2.3 litre,Ecoboost four cylinder engine which would develop between 330bhp and 350bhp. This same unit is to be included with the brand new Mustang model from the same manufacturer which therefore if used in the Focus could very well set this car apart from all contenders from the likes of Vauxhall and the Nissan brand. A standard six speed manual transmission system is expected to be fitted into the Focus RS and there are rumours that a mechanical limited slip differential will be included.

What price tag can we expect to come along with the Focus RS ?

Although nothing has been confirmed by the Ford brand directly as of yet, it is expected that the new Focus RS will see a price tag of somewhere around the £30,000. The vehicle is highly expected to launch at some point in 2016 with more precise information expected to be revealed closer to the time.
