Volkswagen are a car company well known in the industry for their line up of Golf models. The very first Volkswagen Golf was introduced to the world back in 1974. Since then it has gone on to be the flagship car from the German company and we have seen it receive many different variations over the years. For the first six months of this year alone, the Golf has proven to be the best selling car so far on European markets. Today though we take a look into another variant of the vehicle which has officially gone on sale here on European markets and it comes in the manner of the all new Sports van.
So what has been updated and changed with this particular addition to the Golf family ?. Well firstly regarding the body design and layout, the car receive a much wider look. Although it looks like an estate version it is not. It benefits from a flat packed boot and much interior space. The vehicle is a direct replacement for that of the Golf Plus model.
A 2.0 litre, turbo diesel engine finds it's way into the Golf SV which helps the car out overall when it comes to producing a total power output of 148 bhp. We see the new addition to the Volkswagen line up also cover the 0 to 62 miles per hour sprint in a good all round time of just 9.2 seconds. Which helps the car out when it comes to reaching a top speed of 130mph.
The Golf Sports van is also only made available as front wheel drive variant however, it does come fully fitted with a six speed,DSG transmission system. With this power output and interior space taken into consideration, we think that the likes of the C4 Picasso from French firm Citroen and the C Max from could very well have a run for their money with this brand new addition to the Volkswagen family.
If you are interested in owning one of these new SV models, it will cost you £26,815 brand new. The Golf SV can also be driven away from select Volkswagen showrooms/dealerships right now.
