The new Citroen C4 on sale this year

Citroen will put a new version of their good selling C4 model on sale this year with sales kicking off from this coming April. The vehicle is much anticipated by Citroen fans all around the world and the company have now come out with some of the latest information regarding the specifications of the vehicle and what new upgrades we can expect to find in the family vehicle. Citroen have brought in some great success with the C4 over the years. Ever since the first generation model was launched in 2005 right through the launch of the second generation model in 2010. It has been one of the biggest selling Citroen vehicles in Europe and has even won awards for its design and safety features in the past. Does the new model have the potential to maintain some success for the French firm though?.

What new features can be found in the new C4?

So regarding some of these brand new features that are set to be found in this new addition,we see that the firm have made some big adjustments to the cars engine range which also includes some styling designs and transmissions. Kicking off with the engine range, we see a choice of five engines up for grabs with both petrol and diesel variants on offer. The petrol engines are offered in Puretech form and boasts power from108 bhp up to 128bhp across different selections. The diesels however kick in from 99 brake horse power form the entry level BlueHDI setup with two of the same offerings on the table giving 118 and 148bhp.

New exterior design features also come into play and this is demonstrated by the fittings of new three dimensional tail lighting,LED daytime running lights, seventeen inch alloy wheels and new Grey paint schemes. Now with the C4,Citroen offer a six speed automatic transmission system which is available with the 128 horse powered petrol engine and the mid range 118 diesel. Now as far as added pieces of kit are concerned, this all really depends on which trim level you decide to spend your money on. There are a total of four trims up for grabs each offering more added equipment than the last. Cruise control and adjustable seating are two of the main highlights for the entry level trim. It could very well be where the mid level 'Feel' trim comes into play for value for money though. This particular setup offers Bluetooth, a DAB digital radio and a leather steering wheel also comes into play. Parking sensors, a seven inch touch screen and tinted windows are some of the features on offer with the range topping 'Flair' trim.

Price tags and rivals for the new C4

Beginning firstly with a price tag now and we see that Citroen have announced that their new range of C4 will begin from £14,645 for the entry level models. Entry level diesels come in at £16,745. Mid range petrols cost £16,645 with the diesel at £17,345. Prices for the Flair trim level start off from £17,645 with the diesel coming in at £20,045. In the past we have seen the C4 lock horns with big selling models such as the Peugeot 308 and the Ford Focus and there is no doubt in our minds that with so many offerings on the table with the new model, it will have no trouble in doing it again.
