Motorbikes are our prime focus of attention right now here at Gap insurance 123 and today we have gathered some of the latest goings from the motorcycle world and have stored them here for you all in one place. Today we cover BMW Motorrad who have announced a range of smaller bikes for the 2015 year, a brand new KTM Duke model but first, we begin with a look at the recently displayed Triumph Tiger 800S.
Four all new models in the Tiger 800S line up have been confirmed to go on sale from next year and all of them will receive some changes to the power and design, with a range of new technology also coming into play. The popular additions are badged the XR and the XC and both will serve different purposes. The XR is designed for riding on the road whilst the XC is aimed more at off roading. The side furring and headlights across the range have been mildly adjusted. ABS still remains a standard feature with the difference now being that riders have the option of leaving it on or turning it off.
The big addition across the board however is the new fitting of traction control as standard. Light aluminium wheels have been thrown into the mix as have a set of Showa forks which also add to the excitement when we see the three riding modes available to the owner in which they can choose between in order to adjust the bike more perfectly to the surface that the bike is riding on. A cost to come along with the bike remains unconfirmed, but a launch of 2015 is set in stone.
BMW Motorrad have this morning confirmed that from next year, they are all prepared to announce a range of new smaller BMW motorcycles. Stephan Schaller who is the head of BMW motorcycles today stated that the sub 500cc motorcycle range which has been rumoured for months now will be announced from 2015. The machines have also been built in conjunction with Indian company,TVS. From the grand release time, it is expected that a range of three choices will be offered to customers around the world with more potentially set to follow. Due to BMW being a German firm and production times, we believe that a first glimpse could appear in just under one years time from the Cologne motorcycle show in October next year.
KTM are another motorbike firm that have been making the headlines as of late. Now though the firm have been spotted out testing on what appears to be a new addition to the Duke range. The line up of Duke models which include the 125,200 and 390 have all been on sale for three years now and the images shown of a new model have been explained to be an addition to a brand new range not just one motorcycle for the future. All of the bikes in the Duke family are expected to be affected by these modifications. With launch times being kept very quiet right now, we expect that it could be around two years time before we see anything more of these two wheeled machines. From a clear look at the pictures that were taken, we can see that some revisions have come into play as far as the rear end indicators are concerned. The exhaust is now located at the side of the bike and the registration plate hangers seem to have had work done to them also.
