The Audi RS3 is set to go in March

March is always one of the biggest times of year for the automotive industry for two reasons. The first is the new licence plate changes coming into play and second is the annual Geneva Motor Show. This year however is set to be even more special as we have another reason to love the month of March. Audi will launch a brand new vehicle onto our roads this year badged under the RS3. The vehicle has been in development for quite a while now and the specifications and the pricing guides have already been revealed. Therefore today we are to take a look into the vehicle and what is so special about Audi's new model that you should spend some money on it when it launches.

The big challengers that the RS3 will contend with

So first of all we are to take a look into the vehicles that will go head to head with the Audi RS3. Two of the top contenders that will threaten Audi's place at the top with this car are the Subaru WRX and the Ford Focus ST. Both cars are some of the most powerful performance based vehicles on the road right now. Subaru will be looking at taking names as they have recently introduced the returning WRX back to the United Kingdom after some time away and Ford have made a name for themselves with the ST segment which offer a big boost on power and performance rates compared to any of their standard hatchback counterparts. So how does the RS3 plan to contend with these two cars?.

Well Audi have not done anything half hearted with the vehicles power and this is displayed by the 2.5 litre, five cylinder, turbocharged engine. A seven speed S tronic transmission has also been included to make shifting through the gears as smooth as possible. Thanks to this we see that the car can put out 362 horse power and therefore powers on to a good impressive top speed limitation of 174mph. Power is sent to all four wheels via the all wheel drive platform it runs on and it also offers good value for money with highlighted features such as large air intakes and large exhausts. Optional extras are also a plenty for the car with a sports exhaust system and Racing seats being two of the main standout features to spend some extra cash on.

How much is the RS3 expected to go on sale for?

It is expected that when the new RS3 model goes on sale this March, it will arrive with prices beginning from around £40,000 with the price of course rising higher depending on optional extras if wanted.
