Skoda has recently revealed a brand new concept version of it's crossover Yeti model. The Yeti Xtreme will be making it's debut in Austria, at the Worthersee GTI fan meet next week.
The Czechoslovakian manufacturer has said that its engineers have turned the standard model into a more dynamic, sporty rally inspired model. Power comes from a 1.8 litre TSI engine that produces 150 brake horsepower and 184 lb of torque. It is paired with a dual clutch six speed transmission.
The company has said that the car can reach 62 miles per hour in 9.0 seconds, with top speeds of 119 miles per hour. Modifications to it's performance include special brakes from the Skoda Octavia RS model.
The Yeti Xtreme is finished in matt grey paint and sits upon 17 inch alloys, with tyres that are off road. Changes to the Aesthetics include brand new wheel inserts, new tinted side windows and a more aggressive front bumper with LED lights and a bigger air intake.
Skoda has said that the height of the chassis is also able to be adjusted. At the rear of the model there is a revised bumper, which sits alongside dual exhausts. Off road equipment is in the boot of the car and also includes special recovery tracks and traction mats.
On the interior of the Yeti Xtreme, there are four Recardo sports seats that come with safety harnesses too. A more sporty style steering wheel and paddle shift transmission. There is a new Alcantara leather and carbon fibre trim also featured in the car along with inserts of aluminium and special window sill plates and pedals. So with these some technology features and add ons included we see this car as an ideal rival for the likes of the Volkswagen Golf R model and the latest Ford Focus model.
Also featured on the interior are rally centric tools that include a fire extinguisher and a belt cutter that sit on a centre console which has been revised, whilst there is also a first aid kit and an iPad dock featured aswell.
The company allegedly confirmed that this model is a design study only and will be unleashed at the Worthersee event, along with it's new Citijet concept car, which has been designed by 16 apprentices at the Skoda company.
