Should you be excited for the new Vauxhall Adam Grand Slam?

This March will see the grand launch of the latest addition into the Vauxhall Adam range. The Adam was offered previously in Adam S form displaying more power and added features than that of the standard hatchback. Now though for the first time, the company are to offer the Adam with a new name going under the Grand Slam. It receives some new changes that we have not previously seen in the Adam although the name change only affects vehicles in the UK and not in other parts of the world. In our latest Blog entry today, we are going to take an in depth look into just why it is that you should be excited for the launch of this vehicle and what it will have to offer you value for money wise.

Our first official taster into the new Adam Grand Slam

So now as we venture around the car to see just what changes have been brought to the table for the city car,we begin our journey by having a peek underneath the bonnet. Vauxhall have confirmed that inside the car will be the fitting of a 1.4 litre, turbocharged petrol engine. When this is paired up to the manual six speed gearbox, a power deliverance of 148 brake horse power is delivered upon followed up closely by a top speed of 124 miles per hour. The Adam Grand Slam will operate on a front wheel drive platform and also offers some generous equipment for you to sink your teeth into.

Leather is very much a theme with the Grand Slam as the seats are made half and half with leather and other materials. The steering wheel can also be found wrapped in leather. A brand new fitted touchscreen operating as an infotainment system and a DAB digital radio are just two of the special attractions of the new Adam. Throw in both cruise and climate control and you have yourself a vehicle you could quickly be falling in love with. Optional extras include a range of styling packages which allow you to add things such as racing seats and more leather interior features. These are available from prices starting at £1,040 for a set of Recaro seats.

How does the Adam Grand Slam price look?

To purchase a new Adam Grand Slam this March with the basic entry level features, you are looking at a cost of £16,995 which has been officially confirmed by Vauxhall. If you want it to look a bit sportier, those comfortable Recaro racing seats will bring the tally up to £18,035.

The new Adam is a vehicle that could bring a lot of fight to the city car segment this year which sees new additions such as the new Club Up and Street Up from Volkswagen and the new Ford S-MAX.
