New Subaru Impreza

New Subaru Impreza

Subaru have announced that they will be bringing the new Impreza model to the UK in May of this year. The firm have only had a select number of models available in the UK in the past 12 months and rumours have been circling over the brand pulling all models from the market.

However, after the 24th consecutive increase in new car sales, Subaru insist that it is more than essential to enter new models such as the Impreza into the UK car market. The Impreza model has a history of success in the UK and is a model known to the wider population.

Subaru have also confirmed that they will be adding the new WRX STI model to the UK to join the Impreza model. The new model will go on sale after the Impreza and will be available for just £28,995. A number of months ago the Japanese brand Subaru stated that they would be bringing the WRX model to the UK if they could organise to reduce the price of the model to less than £30,000.

The new Impreza model will only be available with one trim level and will be powered by a new generation of the four cylinder 1.6 litre petrol engine. The engine and the Impreza model has the ability to develop 112 bhp and will achieve the 0-62mph in a time of 12.3 seconds. The model also has a top speed of 114 mph.

The new Subaru Impreza model is a little bit different to the rally champion model as it takes on the form of a hatchback. The latest model somewhat resembles the shape of the Ford Focus model and will be priced at somewhere in the region of £17,495.

The Japanese hatchback will also offer the option of adding an automatic CVT transmission for the added cost of just £1,500. It will be interesting to see how the Subaru brand develop in the UK car market.
