The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer model will be joining the massive 45 model strong range of models at the German manufacturer. The 2 Series Active Tourer model will be the first of a proposed 15 models to be added to the front driving range.
The BMW brand have become one of the stand out brands in the last 12 months with the addition of a wide range of models to the automotive market. The i-3 model is set to take the world and the electric car market by storm in the next 12 months with the M4 and the M3 models also set to stamp there authority.
The new 2 Series Active Tourer model is set to join the BMW dealership in the summer and a seven seat model is expected to follow by the end of the year. The model is expected to be released to the world at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
The German mass market manufacturer has stated that the amount of work involved in switching the active tourer architecture over to being a front wheel drive model is minimal and can be done across the whole range. The model has been built and designed with dynamism and athleticism in mind.
BMW are likely to decide on an engine choice to power the new front wheel drive models and we believe that it will be the three litre turbocharged petrol engine with the four cylinder version being available. The four cylinder engine at BMW has the ability to achieve a top speed of 146 mph and a massive 231bhp.
Many manufacturers including the likes of Peugeot, Citroen and Fiat have all decided to target other markets, rather than the European, but it seems those doing well in the European market such as Ford and BMW will continue to target the European Car Market.
