Mazda have revealed a new concept version of their forthcoming CX-3 model known as the racing model. The vehicle is expected to feature updates to its bodywork design and interior accessories with news regarding a new engine range always a possibility too. Mazda have been keeping quiet on the vehicle which was revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon last week and it is currently unknown as to whether the vehicle will make it into production further down the line. The only thing that the brand could mention about the vehicle last week was that it will be equipped with a petrol engine. A new spoiler and large wheel design are the main focus points on the car which is displayed in a White colour option with Red inserts. It would be interesting to see if the Racing model does make it onto the road anytime soon whether it could contend with the standard CX-3 SUV model and which would prove to be the more popular choice.
Mazda were not the only manufacturer taking to the stands in Tokyo as Mitsubishi also made their presence felt with the all new Evolution X model. The brand have confirmed that this will be the most powerful Evolution X model that they have ever had on offer. Although it is just in concept phase at this moment in time, the company are looking to make a big impact in production with this to be the last Evolution model to ever be made. The Evo has always ranked high against the Subaru Impreza/WRX over the years which after a few years away from the United Kingdom has returned. With this final model, Mitsubishi look to make the challenge just one more time.
The concept is carrying a two litre engine developing 466 horse power and you guessed it, yes it is turbocharged. The vehicle was displayed in a gloss Black paint job with red brake pistons which also share the same colour on seat stitching inside of the car. The main big changes brought to the Evo X however consist of nineteen inch alloys, big improvements on the cars cooling setup and the suspension system which is now fully adjustable. There is no word on the car beyond the concept phase as of yet but we believe it will have no trouble making it into production.
Sports Utility Vehicles are higher ranked now on a world wide scale than they have ever been before. We have seen companies such as Nissan with the Qashqai,Toyota with the RAV4 and Porsche with the Cayenne hit the big time with their additions and now Citroen have announced that they also will bring a new model to the table looking to claim the top spot for itself. An interview with the head of Citroen Peugeot Linda Jackson stated that the new model will be on the way and will carry over a lot of similar features to that of the C4 Cactus. She did not mention a time frame as to when we can expect to see the vehicle make it onto the road but we will be paying attention to this developing story very closely.
