Land Rover Discovery Range

Land Rover Discovery Range

Land Rover announced approximately 12 months ago that they would be making a number of changes to the range layout. Along with this announcement, the British based firm announced that they would no longer be producing the Freelander model as we know it and instead it would become the baby Discovery model.

However, it has recently been rumoured that the Land Rover brand have been developing a new member of Discovery line up. A new rugged looking conventional SUV model will be developed to rival such models as the Toyota Land Cruiser.

The new top of the range Discovery model will be priced at a very competitive £36,000 with higher specification models increasing prices up to £56,000. The majority of new models built under the Land Rover badge will be built on the all aluminium platform.

Most recently, the Jaguar Land Rover brand have been focusing on reducing emission levels and increasing the fuel efficiency by building lighter and more powerful models. The Jaguar development in the form of the Jaguar XE Saloon is set to be released later on this year and go up against the likes of the BMW 3 Series model.

However, the XE Saloon will be available at a cheaper price and boast some of the best efficiency figures. The British based brand have enjoyed a successful number of years in the market as they continue to grown and attack emerging markets such as the US and the Chinese.

The success of the Range Rover Evoque model has allowed the brand to expand into markets such as the Chinese and US respectively. The Range Rover brand are expecting huge amount of competition as the success of the SUV car market continues to increase.

Although the vast majority of models in the SUV market are not direct rivals to that of the Range Rover of Land Rover models, they will still have an effect on sales if one SUV model becomes more desirable than the other. Most recently, the Volkswagen Group have had a considerable amount of success with the Toureg, Audi Q7 and the Porsche Macan model.
