Detroit Electric have been in the midst of developing a new sports car model running on electric power and today the company have officially revealed the full production version of the car. The models have both been seen in Red and Blue colour forms and look identically similar to the ideas and images that have been revealed of concept versions earlier in the development phase. The interior setup of the car adopts some similar features found in the Lotus Elise. Personal highlights though include an 8.4 inch touchscreen system and the system itself will control things such as heating and the air conditioning system within the sports car. A 282 brake horse power delivering electric motor will power the vehicle and will make it capable of hitting 155 miles per hour and has been guaranteed to be the quickest electric sports car in the world. The model will arrive first in North America,Asia and Europe with production on the models after testing beginning early on into this year.
Recently released figures show that the Nissan Leaf has achieved some incredible sales on American markets throughout the duration of last year also receiving some good sales elsewhere around the world. A total of 30,200 units of the Nissan Leaf were sold throughout 2014 compared to the 22.610 models that were sold in 2013. This means that the figure of total sales for a twelve month period for the Leaf climbed up by 33.6 percent. In perhaps an even bigger telling figure, the Leaf beat in 2014 beat its sales in 2013 on a month by month basis for twelve consecutive months. This has been a great year for the Nissan Leaf and the brand in general so the hopes are that Nissan will continue with this train of momentum throughout this year and make the Leaf one of the best selling vehicles in their range.
After leaving a port in Southampton on at the weekend, a ship carrying around 1.400 vehicles was left stranded just outside the Isle of White. The ship is carrying vehicles from manufacturers such as Jaguar and Land Rover and it has now capsized by at least forty five degrees. A salvage operation has recently begun on the ship and hopes are to get it stable again which could take a number of days to complete. Tugboats have been located around the ship which weighs around 51,000 tonnes day and night to ensure any more problems don't arise. Around sixty five Mini vehicles are also stranded on board with the operation to salvage what's left of the boat and get it back on an even level already begun.
