A New Toyota Prius

Toyota have announced that a new Toyota Prius model will be coming as soon as 2015. According to a number of automotive representatives, a Toyota Prius prototype model has been seen out and about on the roads of the US.

It is thought that the new Prius model will belong to the C platform and will look to lose about 70kg as the Prius looks to go on a diet and take on a slightly sleeker design. In terms of power, we at Gap 123 expect the Toyota model to come from the existing 1.8 litre engine all be it slightly modified.

According to automotive sources online, the new Toyota Prius will be available with a part time four wheel drive system. The system was developed after the Toyota Prius come into criticism during the bad weather over the last number of years. The system will be powered by an electric motor that will power the rear wheels up to 37mph.

The Prius is thought to be undergoing a sporty makeover that will see the model become a sleeker and slighter model. Toyota have warned that the new Prius model should have a lower bonnet and swept back pillars. The New Toyota NS4 may give you an idea of what root Toyota may go down with the Prius model. The Toyota Prius will look to rival the likes of the Nissan Leaf and other electric car manufacturers such as BMW and the likes of Mercedes.

Along with the standard Prius, Toyota will look to unveil the all electric plug in version of the model. However, the Toyota model will not look to change the models 134mpg Toyota already has. Toyota have recently been focusing a considerable amount of energy developing the latest technological development in the driver less car. Toyota along with Google have been looking to develop the self driving car using various laser awareness technology.
