A New Nissan X-Trail
The Nissan X-Trail model was one of the best selling models in the Nissan range before the arrival of the Nissan Note, Leaf, Qashqai and the Juke. However, the model has struggled with sales as it remained in the market without being updated.
The all new Nissan X-Trail model was recently unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show and the newly designed model may interest a considerable amount of more people. The Nissan Qashqai has somewhat replaced the X-Trail in the line up which may be one reason the X-Trail has struggled in terms of sales.
The second generation of Nissan Qashqai is due to be released which will give the X-Trail model a more distinct place within the Nissan line up. However, the Nissan Juke and Qashqai models have both been two of the vest selling vehicles in the UK in the past 12 months as they took the crossover market by storm.
Some may say that the crossover market was invented and dominated by the Nissan brand for the first 12 months and then other manufacturers had to build models to challenge the success. Vauxhall have built the Mokka model which seems to be the closest contender to the two Nissan models, whilst other competition comes in the form of the Renault Captur and the Ford EcoSport models.
The Nissan leaf has also dominated another market which may become an integral part of the automotive way of life. The Nissan Leaf is the best selling electrically powered vehicle in the UK and the model is bracing itself for a whole host of competition. BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes are all set to challenge the Leaf model in one way or another.
However, the Japanese brand has fought off competition previously and is set to do the same with the Leaf model. The new Leaf model is set to have over 100 different and upgraded features compared to the last Leaf model and is set to counteract any rival developments.
On the other hand, the new X-Trail model will aim to challenge the success of the Ford S-Max and rival models rather than setting the trend and will therefore be an interesting watch for the Nissan brand.
