A facelift for the Mercedes A Class to be revealed from the LA motor show

This months marks the 2014 LA motor show which is where we will get our first glimpse at some of the latest and best upcoming vehicles all set to launch on the market. Another car set to make their presence felt from the show this year comes to us courtesy of German manufacturer Mercedes and a brand new facelifted A Class model which has recently been seen undergoing its first set of road testing ahead of its public reveal. The first ever A Class model from the brand was put on sale in 1997 and has since gone on to include three generations of the car with the latest being made available from the year 2012. This brand new facelift is of course done to the third generation model and after just two years on sale the vehicle is set to receive a range of new updates to both the technical side and both exterior and interior features. The LA motor show will be a busy time for the firm as they are also set to reveal their brand new CLA shooting brake model also. This vehicle is set to go on sale from next year but there is no word as of yet relating to when the A Class facelifted model will go on sale.

Some changes and specifications to look forward to with the A Class facelift

The majority of focus on the A Class model has been directed at the outside features of the car and some new parts added to the body work. The vehicle was seen undergoing testing on public roads with little disguise. The front bumper of the car has been redesigned with larger air intakes included this time around LED lights have also been included at both the front and back of the car also. Expect to find a brand new rear bumper also. We are also expecting to find some brand new changes made to the inside of the car too. Although not a lot has been confirmed on this by Mercedes themselves,a brand new eight inch centre screen and built in navigation system are expected to come along with the car. Both the seating and other aspects of the interior are also expected to receive some new fabrics too.

Regarding the engine range to come along with the car, nothing has been stated as to whether or not the vehicle will receive a new line up or the current range of three diesel units or three turbo petrol engine choices. We believe that the current line up will be carried over though. The BMW 1 series range has been an ideal contender for the A Class over the years and we think that this mid life facelift for the third generation model will help maintain high levels of competition. Expect to see the likes of the Audi A3 continue fighting it out for the top spot with the car also.

When will the revised A Class go on sale?

Information regarding a future release and purchase price for the new revised A Class are being kept quiet right now but it is expected that the vehicle will be revealed to the public for the first time ever officially from this months Los Angeles motor show. It is expected that the car will go on sale at some point throughout the course of 2015.
