Honda Fleet Sales up!

Good news for Honda with their fleet sales up 11 % year to date which is in most being attributed to the Civic.

After the devastation in Thailand production was inevitability delayed, this is because a lot of the parts used to make the Civic are in made in the region. This in turn meant that Honda's Swindon factory was running at less than 50 % capability.

Natural disasters, the earthquake and tsunami in Japan in March 2011 caused mass humanitarian costs but it is also reportedly cost Honda an estimated 10,000 sales in the UK alone.

This had a massive impact on sales figures for 2011 with Honda's sales falling by over twenty percent to just 50,577. With a Honda UK target of over 90,000 by 2015 the pressure is on. So this 26 % year to date fleet sales boost could not have come at a better time with March alone 15 % from the same period last year. April was even better and finished 55 % higher, May 94 % and June 97 %.

Our passion for the Honda Civic shows no signs of halting and the Civic alone has sold over 4000 units this year to date.

Honda also plan to build on the success of the ultra stylish and
sophisticated CR-V's to both business and private customers and have estimated over 6,000 vehicles will be sold with just 1500 being from the new model to be launched later this year.

The launch of the all new 1.6 i-DTEC engine in the Civic early next year is one of the most important new engine launches for Honda’s sales in recent history. As such Honda is anticipating sales of 7,000 of the model to business uses alone.
