Today we are focusing on the motorcycle industry and some of the finest motorbikes to ever go on sale around the world. The first model on the agenda comes to us from the Italian manufacturer Ducati and it is an addition to their Monster range which comes in the form of the 1200 S Stripe. This machine shares similar looks to past streetfighter models on the market in terms of design. It reminds us a lot in the body layout of the Suzuki Bandit which has been announced for a return to the road next year. The S Stripe is looking very modern with the sporty looks that we all known and love from the Ducati brand. Its not just the looks of this Monster addition that help it to stand out though as the bike does also benefit from some good all round power deliverance. Production on the Monster range was originally began in 1993 and now here we are twenty one years later and the range is still going strong. There is no doubt in our mind that the Monster line up has revolutionised the motorcycle industry as we know it but does this 1200 S Stripe model help the range out on its path?.
So with a look into the technical work that has gone into the bike during its time in the production process, we see that the Italian firm have included the fitting of an 1198cc engine which comes in the form of a four cylinder and is completely liquid cooled as standard for the Monster. A total of 145 hp is also produced by the motorcycle. An electronic fuel injection system and a six speed transmission are two other pieces of standard equipment that come along with the bike as standard. Ducati models are notorious for generating a loud racing style noise from their exhausts and this remains the same for the 1200 S Stripe which is why the firm have included the fittings of catalytic converters for the exhausts. A duo of aluminium sound mufflers are also thrown into the mix.
A fully adjustable Ohlins suspension system can be found on the bike as can a steel trellis frame much similar to that used on the new H2 Ninja model from Kawasaki for 2015. An aluminium swingarm allows for a much more lightweight riding experience than previous Monster additions on a new set of Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.
The 1200 S Stripe is only made available in the one paint job which is that classic Ducati Red. However it does look great in our opinion with the Golden front forks that have been included and the two vertical exhaust pipes are located at the right hand side of the bike and come in a Black finish. One of the highlighted features of the 1200 S Stripe is the additions of standard accessories. Some of these highlights include the standard Ducati safety pack, traction control and ABS which all come along with this Monster model as standard.
This years addition of the Monster 1200 S Stripe is on sale right now and can be bought via a cash purchase or on finance options from your local Ducati dealer. If you are however looking to own this model via a cash purchase, it will set you back a total of £12,995.
