MV Agusta are an Italian motorbike company who were founded in 1945. The brand have had some big hitters on their hands over the years and the Italian company are hoping to have another with the addition of their brand new Turismo Veloce 800 model. This brand new bike from the firm has recently been revealed at the Milan Motorcycle show in the brands home country and was received by a welcome reception. In a motorbike world where companies such as Kawasaki and Yamaha dominate the industry, it comes as a welcome addition from the brand. If you have seen an MV Agusta model before then you know the kind of things to expect from one of their machines. The Turismo Veloce 800 certainly does not disappoint in terms of looks and design and from what we have heard about the technical specifications to come along with the machine, we don't think it disappoints here either.
So lets jump into the specifications that have been announced for the model. Firstly the bikes power source comes direct from a 800 three cylinder engine which develops a total of 110bhp. The torque on this model has also been stated to be improved by fifteen percent compared to its predecessor. Thanks to the addition of the brands new MVICS 2.0 control system, we see that the Turismo model has improved handling which can be altered between the standard riding experience or can even be kicked into sports model if required. Eight levels of traction control have also been included with the Turismo Veloce 800 aswell as a fuel consumption improvement by twenty percent. A brand new feature known as the EAS 2.0 also allows the rider to shift up through the gears or down without using the clutch at all. The Veloce 800 is also very generous when it comes to equipment that comes along with the bike. The Turismo model receives Bluetooth connectivity,LED headlights and a five inch TFT screen.
The bike was revealed in a Red and White paint scheme much similar to that of the Ducati 999 model. A Black trellis frame makes the machine more lightweight,a triple pipe exhaust system and passenger baggage compartments are also included.
It has been confirmed that this bike will go on sale and be made available from dealers at the beginning of next year. A purchase price of £12,500 has also been confirmed for the bike. With such great value for money regarding power and features to come along with this bike, should companies such as the Suzuki corporation and Honda be worried when it comes to making an impact on sales figures next year?.
