Ford Focus RS not coming to the UK?
It has not yet been officially confirmed by Ford that a Focus RS model will be coming to the UK. Ford have been one of the best selling manufacturers in the past 24 months as the likes of the Ford Fiesta and the Ford Focus continue to outsell the likes of the Vauxhall Astra and Corsa models.
The new face lifted Focus model has been through the process in the past and has released the RS model after the Focus had received the mid life face lift. The Focus model will face competition from the new generation of Astra models in the next 12 months.
It is also believed that the Ford brand will be bringing the new Mustang to the UK market to sit alongside the Focus RS. However, it has not yet been made clear that the Focus RS will definitely make it to the UK after worries of the model affecting the sales of the Mustang.
The new RS Focus model would also be powered by the same engine as that of the Mustang model which only furthers worries that the model would affect the sales figures achieved by the Mustang.
On the other hand, Ford have confirmed that they will be bringing the Mondeo model to the market towards the latter of this year. The US manufacturer has also confirmed that a new Vignale trim will be offered on the Mondeo model in 2015.
Fellow US rivals Vauxhall have declared plans to overtake the market share and sales figures achieved by Ford in the UK in the next three years. The new Vauxhall Astra and Adam Rocks model are set to be the big selling models during this time.
The new Adam Rocks laid down the challenge after revealing an engine option that could challenge the success of both the Fiesta and the Focus. The 1.0 Litre EcoTec engine at Vauxhall will go up against the 1.0 Litre EcoSport engine at Ford in the UK.
