The Porsche 911 50 Year edition is revealed

Details have been revealed of the brand new limited edition Porsche 911 50 years edition. Porsche is marking 50 years of it's most famous sports car with the 911 50 year Edition. The car is due to be appearing at the Frankfurt Motor Show stand 50 years after the original type 901, which was named 911 later on in 1963. The limited run model is based on the Carrera S, though features the 44 mm wider rear from the Carrera 4S.

As is expected the car features a host of styling nods to the rich heritage of the 911, with 20 inch unique Fuchs inspired alloys and chrome lined engine vents. This edition uses the same 3.8 litre flat six engine as is used in the Carrera S model and also has an identical 4.5 second sprint time to 62 miles per hour, although if you opt for the PDK auto then two tenths are shaved.

On the interior, there are bespoke touches such as green lettering and white needles for the dials, there are tartan fabric panels on the leather seats and there is also a brushed aluminium finish to the gear stick, centre console and doors of the vehicle.

Prices for this model start from £92,257, which is over £8,800 more than the standard Carrera S model. Though the exclusivity is assured as Porsche have plans to produce only £1,963 altogether.

The limited edition model is available now to order and first deliveries begin at the beginning of September.
