Dramatic End to the F1 Weekend!

Explosive Formula 1 Win for Sebastian Vettel

It was the second race weekend of the season and it was an exciting and explosive one of that. After the first qualifying of the season was called off last weekend, as formula one fans we were always expecting the most quietest of race weekends. The race started on a wet but drying track and those who started on the slick tyres were in for an exciting race.

The Race saw a reminiscent Lewis Hamilton who pulled into the pit lane of his old team McLaren who waved him on through to the Mercedes pit crew. As the race grew on it seemed to be a straight fight between the Red Bull Renault team and Lewis Hamilton’s new team Mercedes.

The two teams battled it out between pit stops and head to head racing and as the race edged further towards the finish, the teams seemed to have separated themselves from each other and the Red Bull pair looked to take on each other as well as the Mercedes pair. On lap 46 Red Bull boss was broadcasted to tell Sebastian Vettel to hold his position as the battle with team mate Mark Webber “was getting silly”. The pair continued to duel and the current championship holder took Mark Webber in the DRS zone which only seemed to cause a rift between the team.

It has been a questioned asked before of Red Bull as the pair have had previous in terms of challenging and battling each other. The pair of drivers have previously crashed into each other and taken themselves out of a race and it appeared to be a lesson they had learned until yesterday afternoon.

It was a similar if less dramatic story at Mercedes as Lawis Hamilton's team mate Nico Rosberg appeared to be quicker than his team mate and asked on the radio if he had permission to overtake him. Team Boss Ross Brawn requested that Nico was to stand down in terms of battling for the remaining podium position.

After all the racing and excitement it seemed to be an anti climatic end to the race as it looked to be a stand off between team mates with Mark Webber particularly unhappy with his team mates actions. It was quiet one for other teams as Fernando Alonso of Ferrari crashed out within the first few laps of the race and Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus Renault got stuck in a battle with mid placed driver Niko Hulkenburg.
