Brand new Mercedes S-Class

The brand new S-Class from Mercedes has been spotted, completely undisguised, months ahead of the vehicle's official launch. The new model was spied during a promotional photo shoot and some images of the car have even been leaked across the internet. Mercedes announced previously that the brand new S-Class would officially debut on May 15th, at a special event in Hamburg.

The front of the vehicle showes a larger grille, with full LED headlights and LED running lights below, whilst the profile features less flared back wheel arches and two smooth creases. The rear of the vehicle is very similar to that of the CLA, with it's curved boot lid, LED lights and strip of chrome to finish off the exhausts.

The S-Class model has really always led the way with regards to technology and this new version will definitely be the most advanced Mercedes to date. The LED headlights, which are fully automatic, on sensing oncoming traffic will dip and will also swivel around corners, whilst a 6D vision system will be able to detect if a pedestrian has walked into the road and will apply the brakes when necessary.

The most interesting innovation with the new model however is the autonomous driving system that will allow the vehicle to manoeuvre itself through traffic, at speeds up to 25 miles per hour. The engine of the vehicle will range from a V12 wit the S 65 AMG, down to a 4 cylinder diesel for the very first time, there is also expected to be a plug in hybrid version of the model.

The Brand new S-Class Saloon is expected to go on sale later on this year, which will be followed by a two door coupe which will replace the CL-class, an estate also, a convertible and a long wheelbase Pullman variant, which is to take the Maybach's place in the Mercedes range.
