F1 News at Gap 123

F1 at Gap Insurance 123

As the new Formula 1 season approaches we at Gap Insurance 123 are going to take a look at the chances of each team and the opportunities that may arise for the drivers of the field.

Lets start with the movers and shakers of the field, as we look ahead to the new F1 2013 Season …

The biggest story of the year in F1 had to be the move for Lewis Hamilton from McLaren to the Mercedes team. The move was inspired by German racing legend Michael Schumacher and his move to Ferrari which made him the seven times World Champion that we know and love.

Lewis Hamilton has been in the news for a recent performance in the first round of testing having only achieved a small amount of laps before a brake failure. The British star has also been on the motoring show Top Gear and achieved the fastest time for F1 Drivers beating former Top Spot and current F1 Champion Sebastian Vettel.

Lewis has insisted that success will not be instantly achieved at Mercedes although he will be looking to be competitive in the way of his driving and his reunion with Nico Rosberg.

Filling the gap left by Lewis Hamilton at McLaren, is Sergio Perez. The Mexican star was one to watch last year as he was watched by many teams in the way of knowing what tyres to use. Sergio would only change his tyres once a race or changed them as many times as he wanted in order to know what was best for both the car and the finish he could achieve.

The move is likely to excite the new number one driver at McLaren in Jenson Button as he looks to take full advantage of the developments and opportunities that may have only been available to one driver at the team.
