Skoda have revealed pictures of the brand new Skoda Octavia Estate, less than a month from it's debut at the Geneva Motor show in March. Even though the Octavia is the most capacious car in it's class, this estate is even bigger. The boot, with the seats up offers 610 litres, which is 20 more than the hatch and an outstanding space capacity of 1,740 litres if the back seats are folder, which is a whole 160 litres greater than the hatch.
Looking at other vehicles said to rival the new Octavia estate make these figures even more impressive, with the Renault Megane Sport Tourer, offering a 524 litre boot whilst the Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer loading area is 500 litres. The rear legroom space that the Octavia offers is also said to be class leading.
Excellent practical touches offered by the Octavia include, a double sided floor on the boot, one side made of rubber, one side made of carpet. The rubber of course an excellent advantage if wanting to store anything messy, such as muddy wellingtons etc. There is also an ice scraper and a rubbish bin hiden within the fuel filler cap.
The estate will have the same available engines as the hatchback, though Skoda are introducing a 4x4 model at The Geneva Motor show, it hasn't however been confirmed as to which engines will get the system. Customers can expect to see the regular S, SE and elegance models, along with the efficient Greenline, which has CO2 emissions of around 90g.
The brand new Skoda Octavia Estate will be going on sale shortly following it's official debut at The Geneva Motor show this coming march. Prices of the new model are expected to start at around £17,000.
