More information for an upcoming BMW 3 Series emerges


The 3 Series is one of the biggest selling and most produced vehicles that the German company have to offer to the automotive world. The success of sales and production numbers has been demonstrated as recent as this week with the companies plant in South Africa announcing the production of their one millionth 3 Series model since the cars initial launch. The future of this particular range is also looking very bright as new details have recently emerged regarding the next addition into the 3 Series range which is expected to become available from showrooms in around three years time. Much like it has done in the past, it is believed that further down the line, the new model will be offered in an M Sports format also. We can also expect an electric version of the car or at least a hybrid drive train for the vehicle too. The 3 Series is one of the companies longest standing cars after first being introduced onto the road in 1975. Six different versions of the car have been made available over the course of this time and a new addition in 2018 would make the third lifecycle for this wonderful vehicle.

 

New techniques making the next 3 Series even more special?

So when a brand new model gets launched, one of the big questions on a lot of minds are what changes have been made compared to any predecessors?. The very same question is being asked about the 3 Series in 2018. The latest information available on the car reveals that BMW are looking to make the vehicle more lightweight than ever before by introducing the new CLAR platform which can be found across other BMW models. More interior space is said to be another result of this big change.

Four and six cylinder petrol and diesel engines including a diesel from the Mini Cooper D are going to be made available with the next in line for the 3 Series range. It has been announced also that all of these engines will come in turbocharged form.

 

A future debut for the new 3 Series

So when can we expect to see the new 3 Series model?. Well considering a 2018 launch is on the cards, the chances are we are going to see this new model arrive in 2017 possibly at one of the years big motoring events. No time frame has been revealed as to when in 2018 the car will launch though. As soon as we have any more developments from this ongoing story, we will keep you updated.
