The Ford Fiesta has been one of the most successful models in the last 12 months having topped the UK as well as the European car sales charts. The ST label associated with the Ford Fiesta will be used once again on the new model due for release in 2014.
The current Ford Fiesta is doing as well as any other car and has outlasted all of the new models available in the car market as we have seen with the new Renault Clio and the Peugeot 208. The acronym ST, has been used on other models such as the Ford Focus and the badge alone seemed to have almost doubled sales of the standard model in the past. ST as you may know stands for Sport Technologies and the faith the motorists of today have in the letters is somewhat questionable.
In terms of the performance facts and figures of the new Ford Fiesta ST, the Ford model will produce a total of 197 horsepower through the form of its 1.6 litre Eco Boost Turbo engine. This is a reasonable amount more than other competitors such as the Mini Cooper S amongst others.
The new Ford Fiesta will be as modern as any other car on the market as the new ST model will feature the all new Ford Infotainment system which will be displayed on the user friendly 6.5 inch touch screen. There will be a number of more sporty features available in the vehicle, such as the Recaro seats amongst other features.
The competition the Ford Fiesta ST will face will come in many forms such as the Renault Clio amongst other models. The Ford Fiesta standard model is expected to fade in terms of sales during the next 9 months and then Ford are hoping for a revival of sales when the new Ford Fiesta ST comes to the market. We at Gap Insurance 123 are personal fans of the Ford Fiesta and will be looking forward to the new Ford Fiesta ST entering the market.
