Kia reveal newly updated Picanto pictures

The Geneva Motor Show this week will play host to the reveal of the recently revised Kia Picanto model. We first heard of the car receiving some new additions last month but today the Korean firm have revealed new images outlining some new changes made to the range before the car officially goes on display. There is no word for the moment as to when the newly updated range will go on sale but we will expect it to be as early as next month if not shortly after. The Picanto has been a strong addition to the companies line up since 2004 from which time we haven seen two generations of the car go on sale. The second lifecycle for the vehicle was began in 2011 and this is the model making the transition with some new equipment. Much like before, even with the changes, the Picanto will still remain as either a three door or five door design depending on the customers preference which will help to maintain its popularity especially when it comes up against competitors such as the Volkswagen Up and the Citroen C1.

The brand new features of the revised Kia Picanto

So the Picanto range has been revealed with a host of new changes not just made to the exterior design of the car but updates to the mechanical side of things including the engine have also been included. First and foremost, the same engine is carried over from the standard Picanto hatchback which means that underneath the bonnet you will find a one litre engine setup but update work has been made which now sees this particular engine meet Euro 6 standards. Mechanically, bigger brakes have also been brought into the equation which makes the braking system much more responsive than the current model.

Bodywork changes include the firms 'tiger nose' design grille as they refer to it as. Both the front and back bumpers have also received some work which shows them in a reshaped form. Fourteen inch alloy wheels are also offered as a part of the updated model. Buyers will have the option of three different colours to choose from for the interior design of their car and some other changes will also include a seven inch screen which will operate as a satellite navigation system. Music streaming and video playback is also made achievable by the new system. A sports package is also made available as an optional extra which boast some more upgrades which include a dual exhaust setup.

Will the revised Kia Picanto make it big in the UK?

We certainly cant see any reason as to why not. The Picanto is one of the most loved city cars that Kia produce and sell here in Britain and thanks to this range of new changes and updates making the car more responsive and efficient than ever before we see the newly updated Picanto becoming a good seller for the brand this year.
