This weeks vehicle recall report

This weeks has seen some brand new recalls issued affecting both car and motorcycle owners. BMW,Mercedes Benz and Honda are all of the companies affected so lets begin with the news regarding a BMW recall. The German company have officially joined the Takata airbag recall. BMW were one of the last remaining brands who had not recalled models due to the problem last week but now the company have opted in to the recalls. The Takata airbag fault has resulted in millions of vehicles recalled on a global scale and BMW have now issued a recall on 140,000 3 Series models in the United States. The Takata recalls have spread all across the world so there is a chance that the recall in the US for BMW could end up being just one of the countries affected. Models built from January of 2004 and August of 2006 have been affected by the calling in of 3 Series models. BMW have began to notify owners of the car in question and will be in touch if you are to be affected. Regulators have asked BMW to recall models nationwide so there is a possibility that parts of Europe may be affected further down the line.

Mercedes recall models due to a possible oil leak

Mercedes Benz have announced that they are to recall diesel models using the BlueTec badge in total there are 4,871 cars affected which include the E250,GLK 250 and ML 250 and are badged as 2014 and 2015 models. The problem with these BlueTec models is that the chain tensioner on the car has not been tightened enough which could therefore result in an oil leak from the gasket into the engine. This could potentially result in a fire or spills on the road. The firm have announced that they have begun contact with owners of the car to make them aware so if you're model is affected Mercedes will get in contact with you. The company have said that during the recall they will replace the gasket on the car completely free of charge.

Honda issue recalls on both MSX125 and the Forza

Both Honda motorcycles and scooter ranges are the latest victims of a Honda recall this week. The Japanese firm have announced that they are to recall both MSX 125 and Forza models for an issue with the fuel pump. The same problem rests on both the MSX motorbike and the Forza scooter. The fault caused by the fuel pump is that a bracket inside of the pump can expand and will then disrupt the impeller which could cause the bike or scooter to stall when reaching any high speeds. MSX 125 models built between the 12th of June 2013 and 24th of September 2014 are affected and Forza NSS300 scooters from 18th June 2013 and the 21st of May 2014. At the moment these recalls have only been announced by Honda US but Honda here in the United Kingdom are awaiting to hear if models in this country are affected too which they could very well be.
