A year in review for Volvo

With the 2014 year nearly drawing to a close and 2015 coming up quickly, as a Christmas treat we are going to take a look back at a year that has proven to be a big one for Swedish car company Volvo. They have made many announcements and revealed many new motors in 2014 which have caught the attention of drivers all around the world. Perhaps the biggest success story for Volvo this year though has been the addition of the brand new XC90 SUV model. The car was first revealed early on in 2014 and will make its first set of deliveries to customers on a global scale including here in the United Kingdom from April of next year. The car went on sale with special day one editions with all units completely selling out in just two days of going on sale. The car is expected to be a brand new arrival in which could carry the SUV market well into the future and potentially even knock the likes of the Nissan Qashqai of the charts of the SUV market. Volvo look to set the boundaries with the new model for 2015 and look to carry the SUV segment in new directions. With the latest of in car technology and a vast range of power, the XC90 could be the one to watch next year. Prices on the car will begin from £45,550.

The pull out from Motor Shows in 2015

It was just a fortnight ago that the company confirmed that in 2015 they are to pull out of all but three big Motor Show events. The company have announced this change so as they can spend more money and focus more attention on the online marketing side of their business in the future. The firm have announced that the only shows they will be participating in next year will be the Detroit auto show which happens next month, the Geneva show and the Bejing motor show. This new strategy may very well work well in Volvo's favour as they have also announced plans last week to sell their vehicle range online in the future. Could some of this online marketing be beneficial to online car sales?. Let us know your thoughts on this big announcement made by the company.

Volvo's new cyclist technology

The latest news to come from Volvo arrived on Friday which was when the company announced their range of new technology which will affect both the driver of a Volvo vehicle and cyclists out and about on the road. The company have introduced the world to this new technology which would see a gadget worn on a cyclists helmet and also placed in the Volvo car which will notify the driver as to when a cyclist is nearby or close and the same for the cyclist too. The plan from Volvo is to have these features included in their vehicle range by the year 2020 and images that have been revealed show the new safety equipment being used in the upcoming XC90. Volvo will show the technology off in full from next months Consumer Electronics Show.
