Porsche launch their first ever Cayenne hybrid model

What do you get when you cross a hybrid vehicle with one of the biggest selling Porsche vehicles available today ?, the Cayenne SE hybrid of course. This vehicle which is set to arrive around October/November of this year will mark the first ever hybrid version of the vehicle to ever go on sale. The Cayenne is one of the most well loved vehicles that Porsche have to offer right now. With the very first Cayenne entering production back in 2002, it has proven to be one of the finest family vehicles available on a global scale for the past twelve years. With the increasing growth of EV models from other manufacturers going on sale, Porsche have decided to dabble into that side of the market themselves. With that in mind, this all new vehicle from Porsche could very well prove to be one of the most anticipated hybrid models to ever see a launch.

What will the Porsche Cayenne hybrid deliver ?

So it has been confirmed that regarding the engine and power that this car will put out, we see this developed from the fitting of a V6 petrol engine combined with an electric motor. Overall from the engine and motor combined, we will see an overall power output from the new Cayenne of 378 brake horse power. The engine will come super charged and it has also been confirmed by the mass manufacturer that the motor will allow the car to travel at upto 37 miles per hour without the use of the engine whatsoever. With both engine and motor combined, it has been stated that the Cayenne hybrid will make the leap to 62 miles per hour from a standing start in a time of just 6.5 seconds.

Emissions and fuel/power consumption are a big deal with this vehicle too which is why Porsche have included stop start automatic technology. An all wheel drive system will also come along with the car followed up with an eight speed Torque-converter.

In the past we have seen the Porsche Cayenne lock horns with the likes of the Range Rover Sport and the X5 from BMW. We do think this will continue to be the case but could this hybrid model also open the door for some other EV suppliers around the world ?.

What does the Porsche Cayenne SE hybrid sell for ?

We are firstly pleased to let you know that the SE hybrid Cayenne model is on sale right now and can be purchased from Porsche showrooms here in the Untied Kingdom. In regards to the price tag that comes along with the car, expect to pay £13,000 on top of a standard Cayenne price which brings the cost round to £61,474.
