This week we here at Gap insurance 123 are looking into some of the highest rated motorcycles to ever grace us with their presence on the global market. In continuation this week for today's motorcycle of choice, we check out the Daytona 675 model from British manufacturer Triumph. This motorbike first went into production back in 2006 and the final model in the line up was produced in 2008. It has been given very high reviews from it's owners on all variants and could be one of the best sports model that has ever made it's way out of the Triumph company. Triumph are well known for such bikes as the Speed Triple amongst many more. It is the Daytona line up however that they are most known for. So what has helped the Daytona 675 achieve a five star rating from owners and what gives it that edge over some other sports bikes from the likes of Japanese firm Yamaha amongst many more ?.
What made the Daytona 675 the high achiever that it was ?
So what is it that helped this motorbike stand out and make an impact for the whole time that it was being produced ?. Well engine wise, Triumph included the use of a 675cc engine which helped the bike reach a top speed of 160 miles per hour with thanks to the 123 units of brake horse power that it produced. In regards to the overall riding experience and the handling aspect of the 675, we see that Triumph went a slightly different route with the frame which sits on top of the motor rather than along the sides which a majority of designers use. A monoshock suspension system also helped contribute towards a smoother riding experience especially when hitting those bumpy roads.
Equipment to come along with the motorbike was also generous as we seen that Triumph included a factory race exhaust on the 675,an all new instrument cluster and a pillion perch were also key selling points for all generations of this motorcycle.
Paint schemes were also something special for the 675 as we seen that here in the UK these models were offered in either Gold and Grey which both proved to be very popular. Not many sports bikes out there in this day and age have the potential to go head to head with the CBR 600 from Honda or even the Ninja line up from Kawasaki but we certainly believe that this is something the 675 range from Triumph did extremely well.
How much is the Triumph Daytona 675 on sale for ?
Well it varies on which year model you have your sights set on. The latest model from 2008 sells brand new for £7,199 whereas for a used version of the motorbike £5,390 is the average selling figure.
