The New Volkswagen Scirocco

The New Volkswagen Scirocco

The Volkswagen Scirocco is about to be face lifted and changed for the first time since the model was launched back in 2008. However, there has been a number of sightings of the new model during warm weather testing.

The Volkswagen model was a huge hit during its first year of sales in 2008 and has somewhat flopped since. The high standards that were set by the Scirocco has left other face lifted models being abandoned.

However, it seems that things are about to change with the new Scirocco. The new Scirocco model will be based alongside the Volkswagen Golf in terms of the building platform and will be set for the market in 2015. Interestingly, the new Vauxhall Astra model is also set for the market in 2015 and could spell trouble for the Volkswagen model.

On the other hand, if the Scirocco model was to outsell the likes of the Astra and the Focus models then that would show the superiority of the Volkswagen in today's car market. Volkswagen are currently number one in the European best selling car list as the Golf has taken an unsaleable lead at the top of the leader board.

However, in smaller and more focused markets such as the UK, Volkswagen are yet to top the chart as the popularity of the Ford Fiesta seems to be unbeatable with the Vauxhall Astra and Corsa models also unable to stop the model.

The new Scirocco model is set to make its debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show before starting to take orders for the model shortly after. Volkswagen have also seen a massive up rise in the sales figures of the smaller and more budget brands in the way of the Skoda and Seat models. The technology on the Scirocco model will more than likely been fitted on a Volkswagen sub brand in the form of the Seat or Skoda.
